London Bridge Tower of London
Tourists visiting the capital often mis-label Tower Bridge and call it London Bridge in photos they upload online
Charles, 26, says: 'It all started when one of my friends visited London and put a picture of Tower Bridge on Instagram with the hashtag #londonbridge.
'After that I searched #londonbridge again and saw nothing but pictures of Tower Bridge.
'So I thought I'd start annoying tourists and strangers who've made an innocent mistake.'
Charles Lawley says he gets a 'perverse kick' out of winding people up and correcting them on Instagram posts
And it seems it is not just tourists that get it wrong - even locals have given Tower Bridge the wrong name.
'It is mostly tourists but every now and then I will see that the person's account says they live in London and I think you should know better, ' says the TV worker.
'I don't actually find it annoying it's more just something in me that enjoys correcting people.
'It could get renamed for all I care, it's just a perverse kick I get from winding people up.'
Iconic Tower Bridge was built in the late 19th century and can open so that tall vessels can pass through on the river
No tourist escapes unscathed if they make the mistake of posting a Tower bridge picture with the hashtag #LondonBridge
Charles even goes so far as to write in different languages, including Portuguese, to get his point across
However not everyone takes Charles' lectures lying down, with one user reasoning that a lot of people call it London Bridge.
'I said 'yeah well a lot of people voted for the Nazis' and then I got blocked for some reason!'
Charles admits that he isn't earning many friends by doing this but his Twitter followers are kept entertained.
London Bridge is a much less attractive crossing, used more often by workers in the City and much less visited by tourists
While most #LondonBridge tags are photos of Tower Bridge, one person posted an image of Westminster Bridge
'Funnily enough, I've had a look on Twitter and people seem to be a lot more informed about the bridges.
'Twitter seems smarter than Instagram. Instagram is a black hole of bridge knowledge.
'I've even seen people label Westminster Bridge as Tower Bridge on there, ' said Charles.
Charles has even found fellow 'correcters' online, asking one colinxcooper to be mates after he beat him to correct an Instagrammer
Charles, who is originally from Derbyshire but has lived in London for the last seven years, says he is a big fan of London Bridge.
'I like it, it's understated. Tower bridge is flashy whilst London bridge is an unsung hero.
